Shannon from Light and Joy (a self care and mental health support page) is currently working through a 26 Day Manifestation Journal challenge, and reached out for an interview.. here's how it went: 

Tell me a bit about Destiny Drive

Destiny Drive’s mission is to help you take mindful moments through journaling to manifest your ideal life. Destiny Drive’s primary product is the 26 Day Manifestation Momentum Journal which upgrades your health, wealth and mindset with proven Law of Attraction tools and a supportive Destiny Drivers Facebook group.

What inspired you to start Destiny Drive?

I am a big believer in the Law of Attraction and have used visualisation and affirmations to achieve so many amazing things in my life. When creating my vision board for 2020 I set the intention to earn an additional $5k each month, but I had no idea how I would do that. instead of overthinking it I just wrote in my journal “I am so grateful to have found the perfect side hustle”. I was really unhappy with the layout of the journal I was using, it was difficult to navigate through the different sections I had setup without any tabs and I had purchased a bunch of journals and none of them where quite right. It was then that I decided to design my own journal specifically for manifestation, and Destiny Drive was born!

What is the most memorable or touching story about Destiny Drive and a customer?

I love when people reach out to tell me about their progress with using the 26 Day Journal, it honestly brightens my day so much. I’ve had Destiny Drivers manifest money from finding $20, to bringing in $4000 in a matter of weeks, other memorable moments are Destiny Drivers getting promotions at work, losing weight, quitting smoking, and more. It’s amazing what can happen when you start living intentionally.

What are your own personal experiences with the manifestation journal?

What has been really surprising for me is that I find even if I “half ass” the 26 Days, I still see amazing results compared to not journaling at all. The past few weeks there have been days where I haven’t drank the 2lt of water, I haven’t done a good deed, etc, but I am still making great progress towards my goals which just goes to show that just “showing up” and journaling everyday is such a powerful tool.

Your thoughts about manifestation?

Like many other people, my first exposure to the concept of manifestation was from watching The Secret in 2006. It resonated with me right away and I continued to re-watch it over and over again. For a long time I would use the Law of Attraction for smaller things like winning competitions, getting a good car spot, waking up without an alarm, and getting my food first at a restaurant, but more recently I have been using it for larger things like having a son, losing weight, moving into our dream home and launching a business.

What made you decide to create the ‘ta da list’?

I have always kept a “ta da” list at work, and I find it to be so amazing to reflect back on throughout the year and it’s a great tool to bring out during performance reviews so you can celebrate your achievements. From a Law of Attraction perspective, if you add things to a “to do” list you are going to attract more things “to do” so the idea is to use the scripting tool to map out your main tasks for the day, and then use the “ta da” list to celebrate your achievements.

Why is making your bed, journaling, and drinking 2L of water important to do everyday?

There has been a range of studies that have measured the effectiveness of these three activities and their positive impact on health and mental wellbeing, that is why these are non negotiables during the 26 days. The simple act of making your bed gives you a sense of achievement (and the chances of getting back into it much slimmer), drinking water is so important for hydration and flushing toxins, and journaling clears your head and provides clarity.

How did you come up with the backward bucket list?

The backward bucket list concept is similar to the “ta da” list, I just think it is just an amazing way to start off the 26 Day journey by first reflecting on the amazing things in your life. It is so easy to focus on the things you have not yet done, or the things you don’t have yet but it’s so important to show gratitude to allow more to flow to you.

I think that it’s great that you’ve included a wealth tracker, what more can you tell us about that?

The wealth tracker is my favourite part! The idea is that if you acknowledge and celebrate every little bit of abundance that comes to you, then more will naturally flow. It’s also great to see it all next to each other and see how lucky and valued you really are. Somethings might be actual tangible money like receiving payment for an item you’ve sold, but other things to track are things of value like getting a coffee from a friend, a home cooked meal from a family member, these are important to celebrate too.

What does intentional living mean to you?

It’s so easy to just go with the flow and react to things the same way you always do. The idea to live intentionally is to think forward about how you want to design your life and make it a reality. For example if you know you have through traffic to get drive to work, find a car spot and have an uncomfortable meeting, sit down and decide how you’d like that to go and how you will feel. Some things are out of your control but you can always decide how you react and respond. 

Tell us what scripting is, and what it means to you?

Scripting is one of the most powerful Law of Attraction methods. It involves thinking about your ideal life, or perfect day and then writing it out as if it was a script of a movie and you're the main character. The more detailed you are with your scripting, the more effective it will be. Write down the script of your future self five years from now - where do you live? what do you look like? who do you have around you? Then really embody the feeling of that future self to align your vibration to it. 

Why do you believe daily growth is important? Why the tasks (me time, podcast, reading, good deed, and movement) that you’ve included?

These daily growth activities are where the inspired action comes into play. It encourages you to expand your mind and to try something new each day. It is also an important prompt to make sure you are putting yourself first. In order for your dreams to manifest, you need to feel worthy and have self-love, so it’s so important to take some me time and move your body in positive ways each day.
